On 28 May 2025, world-renowned TV chef Chef Martin Yan will join forces with Chef Nutz of Sood by Chef Ton for a one-night-only, 5-course Thai–Penang inspired dinner that promises to be bold, unforgettable, and brimming with local flair.

A Rare Culinary Collaboration at Sood by Chef Ton

Known for his legendary cooking show “Yan Can Cook”, Chef Martin Yan has been a global ambassador for Chinese cuisine for over four decades. With more than 3,500 episodes broadcast worldwide, he is a celebrated author, culinary educator, and master chef who has shaped the way audiences appreciate Asian cooking.

At Sood by Chef Ton in George Town, Penang, Chef Yan will cook alongside Chef Nutz Jikky, the head chef of Sood and one of the region’s rising culinary stars. Trained under the tutelage of Chef Ton of Le Du (ranked No. 1 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023), Chef Nutz brings a modern Thai approach, combining fire-cooked techniques with rich Penang heritage ingredients. His work has helped make Sood one of Penang’s hottest destinations for modern Thai cuisine with a fun dining twist.
